OMG
Now, I have I friends who are Muslim, Hindi, Jewish, Buddhist and atheist. Hopefully I spelled those right. America has freedom of religion, and that is a great thing. However, people should respect other's religions and not do things to offend them. Like, for instance, saying oh my God.. It's disrespectful of Christianity. If someone said o my Allah, you can bet there would be some sort of big political stink about it. But why not when people say oh my God?

Oscar Snub
I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, and I found this great video about being snubbed at the Oscars.
Awkward Text
I was texting my friend (who shall remain nameless) last Monday. We aren't close, but she invited me over to her house. I was at field hockey, so I couldn't. When I was free later, she was going out to paint her room. We were texting back and forth about her new, purple room. Flash to Wednesday. She and I were going to hang out over at her house on Thursday, when I mentioned I was at my brother Alex's basketball game. Here's our conversation.
Her: Alex who?
Me: Really?
Her: alex who?
Me: My brother
Her: O wait which katie is this?
Me: (last name)
Her: Oh haha i thought this was katie my neighbor thats y i was wondering if u were around
Awkward, anybody? This is an important lesson for texters: Always check to make sure that you're texting who you think you're texting. And always put last initials on duplicate names.

A Question
I have a question. If you take a test, and you don't know an answer to a questions, then it's your fault for not studying, right? Well, normally that's the case. For my science midterm, it's not. Our teacher did not tell us what to do during a volcano erruption, I checked our packet; it didn't say. Guess what was on the midterm? What to do during a volcano erruption. When my class asked him about it, he just dodged the question. Does that make anyone else annoyed?

New Year
Happy New Year! It's strange, but although Sunday was January 1st, today is the legal New Year's Day. I'm not complaining though; any day off from school is okay in my book!
I never keep my resolutions. Sure, I follow them for a few weeks, maybe a month or two. But I always stop, because I don't have enough time. This year I am determined to keep my resolutions. One of them is that I will update this blog at least once every 2 weeks, prefferably more.
Hope you had a merry Christmas (or Hanukkah, or Kwanza, or any other holiday) and a happy New Year!

It's beginning to look a lot like christmas
Actually, it isn't. With only a week to go, still don't feel like it's the Christmas season. All of our decorations are out, our tree is up, I have presents for (almost) everyone....why do I feel like this? The answer is simple. We don't have any snow. We will have a GREEN Christmas. Considering the fact that I was born in a town where we had many snow days, this is a major disappointment. You'd think that Rochester, where I live now, would have a lot of lake effect snow. But no, we don't. Okay, we had a sprinkling a week ago, but that melted before I got home from school. Snow defines Christmas for me, and the fact we don't have any just makes me sad. I would never last in Hawai'i.

Won't anyone buy some?
Last night, my friend Meaghan and I sold Girl Scout cookies at a booth sale outside the Hess station down in Bushenell's Basin. It was freezing cold, but we kept warm by doing squats and jumping jacks. We were there for 3 whole hours, but very few people bought cookies. Most of the time, they would just look at us and continue walking, and not say anything. They were really rude. I mean, why couldn't they just say "no thanks"? To pass the time, I made up a song to get people to buy from us. You can hear it here. It is a parody of "Who will buy" from the musical Oliver!. I love that musical. So good, and the movie is awesome. I tried to read the book, but I got 3/4 of the way done and couldn't finish it; it was so difficult to read. Anyways, if you see a girl scout trying to sell cookies, buy them!
